Snowfields Home School Agreement

Snowfields academy will:
- Provide an inclusive, secure and well-disciplined environment where all students feel safe and are able to achieve their fullest potential in a disruption-free learning environment.
- Have clear expectations surrounding all aspects of academy life applied consistently throughout the academy.
- Provide a broad and rigorous curriculum under the framework of the Middle Years Programme of the International Baccalaureate to ensure the highest international standards.
- Aim to respond to parent/carer queries within 48 hours.
- Support your child’s needs pastorally and academically to ensure they are healthy and happy.
- Provide regular updates of your child’s progress, attendance and conduct Weekly check in email by your child’s form tutor via the form email address,Three annual face-to-face meetings (including at annual review).
- Provide co-curricular opportunities, activities and visits to build cultural capital and knowledge of the world.
The parent/carer will:
- Ensure my child is provided with the correct equipment and uniform ensuring they are ready to learn every day.
- Ensure and maintain a positive relationship with the academy by supporting its aims, values and policies through constructive and respectful dialogue with all staff members. This will include our Behaviour Policy.
- Always follow the established channels of communication with the academy, regular communication via class email addresses, i.e. classname@snowfieldsacademy.org.uk and general information and/or queries to info@snowfieldsacademy.org.uk.
- To keep the academy fully informed of anything that may affect my child’s progress in the academy.
- Attend parents’ evenings, parental meetings and acaFarah@snowfieldsacademy.org.ukdemy events.
The student will:
- Work hard: Work hard and allow other students to work hard in all lessons. Have the highest expectation of themselves in conduct and study ensuring academic integrity and original work in all tasks.
- Be Kind: Acknowledge their talents and skills and those of others, using them wisely and respecting and celebrating them.
- Communicate: Communicate respectfully to all members of staff and students.
- Stay Safe: Behave in a way that keeps themselves and others safe.
- Be Happy: Participate fully in academy life, supporting its values, policies and aims by being an ambassador for the academy.
Student Code of Conduct
Students in Pathfinder College will have the opportunity to take part in offsite activities, work experience and with parental agreement will be permitted to leave the campus during their break and lunchtimes. We expect students to follow our behaviour expectations which fall under the wider Snowfields Behaviour Support Policies and Proceedures.
We ask all students to sign a our Student Code of Conduct and follow the guidance regarding their behaviour, failure to do so could result in students being unable to participate in offsite activities.
Student Code of Conduct
At Pathfinder College, we strive to create a safe and inclusive learning environment where every student can thrive. To ensure a positive experience for all, it is important that we adhere to certain behaviour expectations. Failure to meet these expectations may result in verbal and written warnings. The following code of conduct outlines our behaviour guidelines:

Respect for Others:
a. Treat all students, staff, and visitors with respect and courtesy.
b. Avoid discriminatory behaviour or language based on race, gender, religion, disability, or any other protected characteristic.
c. Listen actively and attentively during class discussions and respect others’ opinions.

Attendance and Punctuality:
a. Attend all classes regularly and arrive on time.
b. If absent, notify the appropriate staff member or the school office as soon as possible.
c. When leaving site, return at the expected time.

Personal Responsibility:
a. Be prepared for all classes and complete assigned tasks to the best of your abilities.
b. Bring necessary materials and equipment to class.
c. Take care of school property and report any damage or loss immediately.

Behaviour in Class:
a. Follow instructions from teachers and support staff promptly and willingly.
b. Refrain from disruptive behaviour that interferes with the learning of others.
c. Use appropriate language and maintain a positive and constructive attitude.

Use of Technology:
a. Use technology resources, including computers and the internet, responsibly and in line with school policies.
b. Respect copyright laws and intellectual property rights when using digital resources.

Dress Code:
Adhere to the college’s dress code policy as communicated by the staff.

Health and Safety:
Comply with health and safety regulations and guidelines to ensure the well-being of all individuals in the school.
Off-site permission
Students will be given the opportunity to travel off-site during their break and lunch times.
Students will be able to do this either independently or sign up to the mini-bus run out to one of the local shops. A sign up sheet will be placed on the Common Room Notice Board every week.
Students will need permission from parents to leave the school site and this will be at the discretion of parents and the college and could be revoked if students do not follow the code of conduct.
A copy of this permission slip will be given to students as part of their induction pack.
